Progress on Multimedia Preservation Application Format

MPEG is working on a standard for interoperable preservation metadata for multimedia content, called Multimedia Preservation Application Format (MP-AF). DAVID has submitted three input contributions concerning MP-AF to the 103rd MPEG Meeting (Geneva, CH, Jan. 21-25, 2013), containing examples, core technical metadata and proposing refinements to requirements. During the MPEG meeting, an assessment of the proposed technologies and an analysis of the gaps has been performed. The working group plans to develop the first version of MP-AF Working Draft (WD) by April 2013, during the 104th MPEG meeting (Incheon, KR).
