EPFL and ECMA have organised the 2nd International Workshop on Standards and Technologies in Multimedia Archives and Records (STAR2013) in Lausanne, CH on Jan. 18-19, 2013. Werner Bailer from JOANNEUM RESEARCH has been invited to present the recent activities concerning the standardisation of the MPEG Multimedia Preservation Application Format (MP-AF), to which DAVID is contributing. Apart from the need for interoperable multimedia metadata several speakers highlighted the increasing importance of automated quality analysis, another topic on which DAVID is focusing.
